The ocean swells will remain chest high today and with the water temperature at 77, the ocean will be an inviting place. But please beware of some rip currents that are developing. You can tell there’s a rip current because the water beyond the breakers will be turbid and choppy. Also, there will be outgoing waves crashing into incoming waves. This is a dangerous situation for swimmers. Remember, if you are caught in a rip tide, swim parallel to the shore until you are out of it, then come to safety. Our rip tides are usually very small, in fact if you live on an upper floor, you can see the circular disturbances in the water, sometimes more than one. The surf will be building into the weekend. Lets hope the rips tides goes away.
