The newly renovated Mazatlan Aquarium is part of the Red de Tortugeros de Sinaloa (RETOS), a the group that embraces anyone involved in sea turtle conservation in the state of Sinaloa. RETOS is hosting the first ever sea turtle festival in Mazatlan. It is the 8 & 9 of June from 10-3 pm at the Aquarium, 6-9 pm at Plazuela Machado and on the 9th, from 9-1pm at the Aquarium. There are a lot of events like children’s costume competition, workshops, films, etc. At the Plazuela Machado, there will be dances and expositions among other things. Included in the festivities will be a photography competition. If you submit a sea turtle picture, the first prize for the adult category is a free night at Estrella del Mar.
