I wandered down to the tortugero yesterday and found over 850 turtle nests safely incubating behind a net wall and under a cooling tent. Then this morning we had a chat with the cops who were busy digging up last night’s haul. They said that in one night, last night, in the distance between Isla Piedra and the Pogue`s place, they had harvested 50 nests! AND they still had the distance to the Rio Presidio to go. What a haul!
