Farm to Table Mazatlan 2014 Has Begun

This is a very special week in the history of Mazatlán’s food scene! The first-ever “Farm To Table Mazatlan” began on Monday, January 27, 2014 and will continue through Sunday, February 2, 2014.

For seven days, seven local restaurants will feature seven special menus sourced from member growers of the Mercado Organico de Mazatlan (MOM), Mazatlan’s only organic farmers market, and other invited Sinaloa organic growers.

Individual restaurants will also present free farmer and winemaker talks, cooking demonstrations and other activities. The week culminates in an elegant, all-inclusive Gala at a MOM member’s farm with all participating restaurants sharing the cooking.

Tickets went on sale January 2nd and are available at participating restaurants. A portion of the proceeds will be given to an as-yet undecided charity.

In alphabetical order, the participating restaurants/chefs are:

  • Diego Becerra, Chef, El Presidio
  • Marianne Biascotti, Owner, Rico’s
  • Sarah Emerson & Gabriel Ocampo, Owners, First International Seafood House (F.I.S.H.)
  • Enrique Espinoza, Owner, Rosso Nero
  • Enrique Freyre, Owner, Raggio
  • Hector Peniche, Chef, Molika & Krema
  • Alastair Porteous, Chef, The Water’s Edge Bistro
