Security Alert

There is a lot of construction going on around here bringing new faces to our bubble. Lori today pointed out an individual soliciting work by knocking on doors and offering to help out with construction type projects. One such man knocked on my Phase I Condo door claiming to be sent by the HOA to repaint the door molding. For a mere $6000 pesos he would also replace my passage set.  I told him I had no cash to give him his requested advance of $3000 and he went away. So far he has not returned.

I am very happy to see that Lori has activated an alert to prevent this Roberto/Ronaldo guy from returning but I am unsure if my guy was the same guy. My guy was fairly good looking with bright white tooth facades. He spoke good English and claimed to have worked in Aspen, Colorado.

The other guy spoke no English, according to reports and was a little unstable, threatening lawsuits and whatever.

I did not learn of this until last night and for the first time, I was concerned that I failed to lock up my condo when I left. All was well when I returned but I feel a deep sense of sadness that it has come to this.

I know I am spoiled. At home I don’t even have locks to lock on my front door because we are so isolated. I even leave the keys in my car. I guess this old dog is gonna have to learn a few new tricks.

What is the world coming to?

That is such a shame our door will be locked when we go out now.

Wow….thanks. We also live in a safe rural area….with no locks, keys in car. I will be locking my door even with Paco here. Jan
