Bob Lamkin

Bob Lamkin died peacefully in his sleep on Sept. 29, 2018, two hours after his 98th birthday. For his birthday he had a martini! He enjoyed his last years in Estrella Del Mar immensely. He loved going out for his daily walk and his daily swim and talking to everyone he met. He loved his doctors in town and going to La Tuna for shrimp. He especially loved going into Barron to the high school and tried to learn Spanish as the kids learned English and regularly lectured them on the importance of education.  He thought Silvia and Javier and the IT department were super. The family appreciates the open arms with which he was received at Estrella Del Mar.

I think of you often and how you changed your life to live at EDM with your family. Meeting you all and watching the life you lived, filling each day with your friends and daily activities was awesome. Your Dad was an inspiration to us. Seeing his dapper dress at church on Sunday made me smile, if only we all cared about respect of self and others.
He is safe in the arms of Christ but will be missed on our great earth. Glad we knew him and know you.
    xoxo, Linda and Norm Shaw

Margaret. so sorry to hear of Bobs passing. He was always positive and had a welcome greeting and response on any subject. I was so impressed to see him poolside with his Spanish/English book studying and getting his aqua therapy at the same time. He was a real inspiration that we are never too old to learn. I know he had that same effect on the students at Baron. Our sympathies to you and your family.
